Sep 21: Reek. Rescue. The team was requested by the Gardai to assist a male with lower leg injuries from a fall. Patient was treated and evacuated by the team to murrisk carpark Aug 28: Reek. Rescue. The team was requested by the Gardai team to assist a female with lower leg injuries from a fall. Patient was treated and evacuated by the team to the awaiting ambulance at the murrisk carpark. Aug 28: Reek. Rescue. The team was requested by a male casualty to assist with a wrist injuries from a fall. Patient was treated and evacuated by the team to the Murrisk carpark. Aug 21: Reek. Treatment. The team was requested by the Gealforce team to assist a female with lacerations to both hands and elbows from a fall on the cone of the reek. Patient was treated by the team at the base. Aug 21: Reek. Rescue. The team was requested by the Gaelforce team to assist a male (non competitor) with head and facial injuries from a fall. Patient was treated and evacuated by the team to the awaiting ambulance at the base. Aug 21: Scelp. Rescue. The team was requested by the Gaelforce team to assist a male competitor with a suspected dislocated shoulder. The patient was treated and evacuated by an awaiting ambulance. Aug 21: Reek. Rescue. The team was requested by the Gaelforce team to assist a male competitor with chest pain on the cone of the reek. Patient was treated by a doctor on the reek and evacuated by the team to the awaiting helicopter, patient was transported to Castlebar. Aug 18: Reek. Rescue. The team was requested by the Gardai to assist a young male aged 8 with a head injury on the cone of the reek. Patient was treated and evacuated by stretcher to the helicopter. Aug 04: Reek. Rescue. The team was requested by the Gardai to assist a female with a lower leg injury on the cone of the reek. Patient was treated and evacuated by stretcher to an awaiting ambulance. Aug 03: Reek. Rescue. The team was requested by the Gardai to assist a female with a lower leg injury on the cone of the reek. Patient was treated and evacuated by stretcher to an awaiting ambulance July 25(Reek Sunday): Team coordinated activities for 13 Mountain Rescue Teams. Low cloud cover meant that helicopter assistance wasn't available on the day which made for quite a busy day for many teams. Incidents quite minimal however, Teams dealt with approximately 50 situation in total on theday, the most serious being a severe head injury and concussion caused by a fall on the cone. Jul 24: Reek. Rescue. The team was requested by the Gardai to assist a male with head and a lower leg injury on the cone of the reek. Patient was treated and evacuated by stretcher to an awaiting ambulance 19 July: Received a call from from the Gardai at 8pm about 2 ladies who were stranded on cliffs or steep ground at Old Head near Louisburgh, Co. Mayo. First response team from party doing prep work for Reek Sunday on Croagh Patrick diverted to help the ladies. Meanwhile the rest of MMRT were put on stand-by. Casualties located on a steep ledge about 50 m above road and walked to safety. Team stood down. 18 July: Team got a call from the Gardai about a woman who was injured on the cone of Croagh Patrick. MMRT sent up first responders to the south side of the cone of Croagh Patrick. This response team requested a stretcher party. A woman in her early sixties from Tyrone had lower leg injuries. The Stretcher team brought the woman down to the MMRT base and from there she was taken to Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar. 26 June: Team mobilised to casualty on cone of Croagh Patrick who had sustained considerable abrasion injuries due to a fall. Helicopter support requested and casualty air lifted off mountain and transported to Mayo General Hospital 25 June: Team mobilised to casualty who had sustained a serious arm injury in a fall on the Bangor Trail. Helicopter support requested due nature of injury and casualty air evacuated to Mayo General Hospital 12 June: Team involved in providing safety presence for annual Mweelrea leg of Focus Ireland 4 peaks challenge. No major incidents reported. 11 June: Team mobilised to young male casualty with lower leg injuries on cone of Croagh Patrick. Helicopter support requested and casualty air lifted off mountain and transported to Sligo General Hospital 23 May: First response team mobilised to assist casualty on cone of Croagh Patrick. 23 May: First response assisted climber in walk-off off Croagh Patrick. Casualty suffering from fatigue. No further treatment necessary 23 May: Team mobilised to rescue of young female with lower leg injuries on cone of Croagh Patrick. Helicopter support requested due to to weather conditions. Casualty air lifted off mountain and transported to Mayo General Hospital 22 May: Team mobilised for search for overdue male pilgrim on on Murrisk side of Croagh Patrick. Pilgrim eventually located walking from Beltra back to Murrisk having taken an alternative route down the mountain 21 May: Gardai requested team assistance to investigate a car that had been set on fire and pushed off the summit of Croaghmoyle (RTE transmitter) outside Castlebar. Rope team inspected remins of car and route of vehicle down mountain for possibility of driver or passengers. No persons located and inc determined to be malicious intent. Team stood down. 5 May: Team put on standby for possible call out to Croagh Patrick. False alarm. Team stood down 28 Apr: First response team mobilised to possible casualty on reek. False alarm. Team stood down 19 Apr: Team put on stand by for search for missing person on reek. Missing person located and team stood down 16 Apr: Team put on stand by for search for missing person on reek. Missing person located and team stood down 2 Apr: Team put on stand by for search for missing person on reek. Missing person located and team stood down 21 Mar: Team mobilised to for rescue on Murrisk side of Croagh Patrick. 14 Mar: First Response Team mobilised to search on Murrisk side of Croagh Patrick. Missing person located and walked off 9 Mar: Team mobilised to rescue on Murrisk side of Croagh Patrick. 6 Mar: Team mobilised to rescue on Murrisk side of Croagh Patrick. 5 Mar: Team requested by Ambulance Control to assist in accessing a patient. Stood down as amb control called back to say not required. 9 Jan: Team on standby per request by Ambulance Control for humanitarian assist. Stood down as amb control called back to say not required. 6 Jan: Team requested by Ambulance Control to assist in accessing an elderly female in a remote area of Tourmakeady for removal to MGH for respite care. Team proceeded to area along very icy and snow covered roads in a convoy of two 4 Wheel drive vehicles and brought casualty to Killawalla where she was moved to an ambulance for removal to MGH. 6 Jan: Team requested by Ambulance Control to assist in accessing a patient in Islandeady due to severe weather conditions. Stood down as amb control called back to say not required. 3 Jan: Team on standby for possible call out on Croagh Patrick. Stood down as not required. |
