25 Nov: Mayo Mountain Rescue responded to a call out on Croagh Patrick. The team received a call from the Gardai at 13:00 and sent a first response team and stretcher party to the Summit. Unfortunately the casualty, a male in his 60's, was deceased. The team stretchered the casualty down the mountain to Mayo Mountain Rescue Base at Taobh na Croaibhe.

19 Nov: Team mobilised for a female casualty who had sustained an ankle injury on the cone of Croagh Patrick. Members of the casualties own party managed to evacuate her down to the site of the medical base on the shoulder where they were met by MR stretcher party. Casualty evacuated by stretcher to the MR base at Taoibhnacroibhe.

12 Nov: Team on duty for Sea to Summit race on Croagh Patrick. No notable casualties.

6 Nov: 6th callout in one week on Croagh Patrick. Casualty sustained lower body injuries evacauted by stretcher party.

4 Nov: Female training for Sea to Summit race sustained ankle injury on North (Murrisk) side of the mountain during descent. Full stretcher party mobilised and casualty evacuated to Murrisk for transfer to MGH by ambulance.

2 Nov: The team received a call from a French tourist who has gotten disoriented and lost on the North West side of Croagh Patrick. Full team call out however the the lady was located and team stood down.

1 Nov: Team responded to a call out on Croagh Patrick. We received a call around 16:30 from a young male with a lower leg injury on the Murrisk side of the mountain. The full team was called out and assisted the casualty back down the mountain. The team was stood down at 18:20. Thanks to all who attended. ( including the new members, an easy first rescue)!!

Oct 29: Mayo Mountain Rescue responded to a call out on Croagh Patrick for two casualties on the cone. Due to the level of severity involving possible head injuries and location, Coast Guard helicopter also tasked to assist. First casualty was a 16 yr old female, a member of a youth group climbing the mountain who had taken a tumbling fall and sustained multiple impact injuries. Casualty was stabilised on the mountain by first response team and moved by stretcher down the cone below clould cover for winch evacuation by CG heli.
2nd casualty was a female adult leader of the youth group who had sustained less severe injuries in trying to arrest the fall of the first casualty. She was also stabilised on the mountain and moved lower down by stretcher for CG heli evacuation to MGH.

Oct 13: Mayo Mountain Rescue responded to a call out on Croagh Patrick at 13:30, We received a call from a lady on the top of the cone with a lower leg injury. A first response team was sent up along with a stretcher party to access the injured lady. She had a dislocated ankle. The team prepared the lady for evacuation by stretcher and carried her to Mayo Mountain Rescue Base at the rear of the mountain. The team were stood down by 18:00. Many thanks to the 6 army personnel who kindly assisted our team with the carry off.

Sept 30: Mayo Mountain Rescue responded to a callout on Croagh Patrick. We got the call at approx 5pm for an injured patient on the cone of the reek. Off we set to gather at the famine memorial at the front of the reek. We had the coast guard to assist us. Patient carried down towards the back path of the reek for heli evac. It was dark at this stage so it was particularly dramatic with the winching of the patient and the medics from the coast guard. Many thanks to the coast guard for their assistance.

Sep 22: Mayo Mountain Rescue Team were put on standby by GMRT for assistance in locating two lost walkers in the Ben's in Connemara . Weather conditions were very poor and visibility was down to a few metres . Mayo team were stood down at 23:30 after the two walkers were located.

Sept 18: Reek. Mayo mountain rescue attended a patient with an ankle injury on the front of the reek today. The patient was treated, packaged and stretchered off. Well done to all the team especially the members from Dublin who kept their concentration levels for the duration! We finished just minutes prior to kick off !.

Sept 17: Mayo Mountain Rescue attended the Focus Ireland 4 peaks challenge. The team guided the challengers across the more challenging sections of the climb on Mwleerea as visibility was very poor and conditions very wet and windy. The team Walked off one lady to the command unit who had taken a fall on her accent. Well done to all the contestants, Mountain Rescue & Order of Malta who assisted on the day. Aug 30th: Call out: The team received a call from a lady who collapsed on the Murrisk Side of Croagh Patrick. The team were put on standby while a first response team accessed the casualty. The first respond team walked the casualty off and the team were stood down.

Aug 29th: The team received a call at 2am from a group of 4 people stuck on the cone of Croagh Patrick with no shoes or lights. A first response team ascended the mountain and guided the group down to the car park.

Aug 28th: Reek. Helicopter Training with IRCG cut short as we had a Team Call out to a lady with an ankle injury on the front of Croagh Patrick. The coast guard helicopter assisted the team in transporting out medical supplies, stretcher and personnel to the casualty, where she was then stretchered off to the Murrisk car park. Many thanks to the Sligo based Rescue 118 Helicopter for all their help.

Aug 20: Reek. Rescue. The team was requested by the Gaelforce team to assist in the event as per previous years. Reek section of the Event passed off with no major injuries to attend to. We treated a dozen or so leg and muscle pains, as well as a (female) casualty who had taken a bad fall off the cone, she had sustained some deep cuts to her leg, however after medical treatment she walked off to Mountain Rescue Base. The team also walked a second (male) casualty off the mountain with a leg injury. Well done to all Team members who assisted on the day, and helped organise the Event.

Aug 16: Reek: Mayo Mountain Rescue team were called to an injured man on the ridge of Croagh Patrick at 15:00 16/08/11. A First response team was dispatched and prepared the casualty for a Helicopter evacuation, The Casualty was airlifted to Mayo General Hospital. Mean while as the team were dealing with the first casualty the team received another call from a man who had sustained a knee injury on the Cone of Croagh Patrick, a second first response team and a stretcher party were dispatched and arrived at the casualty at 17:00. The casualty was prepared for a second helicopter evacuation. The team stretchered the casualty to the ridge where the Helicopter took the casualty to Sligo General Hospital . Well done to all Team Members who helped out and a special thanks to the Sligo Coast Guard Helicopter for all their help.

Aug 31: Reek Sunday: MMRT coordinated the activities of 12 MR teams from all over Ireland and MR visiting personnel from UK and Austria. Poor weather and the Mayo Cork All Ireland Quarter Final meant that numbers were majorly down on previous years as were casualties accordingly.

June 30 : Stand by for a search, the team was alerted by the Gardai that a walker was reported missing after he failed to return within a reasonable time. The team was then stood down as the walker turned up

June 26 : Reek. Rescue. The Gardai requested the team to assist a male patient with hip and head injuries after a fall on the cone. The team responded and the patient was treated and evacuated by helicopter to the nearest available hospital.

June 11 : Mweelrea. Rescue. The team was on duty for the Focus Ireland 4 Peaks challenge. A member of the challengers required assistance with slight chest pain. The patient recovered enough to be walked off.

June 11 : Reek. Rescue. The team was requested by the a member of the public to assist a male who was in difficulty on the cone. The patient was apparently cramping up and climbing barefoot, again the patient could not be located….the second mystery patient of the day.

June 11 : Reek. Rescue. The team was requested by the Gardai to assist with locating an injured male on the reek. The injured person could not be located and the team was stood down. The person was reported to have turned up.

Apr 22 : Reek. Rescue. The Gardai requested us on a rescue of a patient that had fallen on top of the reek, the patient managed to come back down to the ridge. The patient was treated for a sprained ankle and was carried off.

Apr 22 : Reek. Rescue. The team was requested by the Gardai for a rescue from the reek along the ridge. The patient had fallen and received minor cuts and bruises. The patient was walked off and received by the awaiting ambulance.

Mar 15 : Reek. Rescue. The team was requested by the Gardai to assist a female student with a dislocated shoulder on the cone of the reek. Patient was treated and walked off the reek. This was a re-occurring issue for the patient.

Mar 13 : Reek. Rescue. The team was requested by the Gardai to assist a male with a lower leg injury and a lacerations to the face and head on the cone of the reek. Patient was treated and evacuated by stretcher to an awaiting ambulance.

Mar 12 : Reek. Rescue. The team was requested by the Gardai to assist a male with a upper leg injury on the cone of the reek. Patient was treated and evacuated by stretcher to an awaiting ambulance.

Feb 12 : Lugnaquilla. Operation. While we had 2 members attending the WEMSI course in Wicklow, they were asked to assist The Dublin/Wicklow Team on a rescue. The patient suffered from a sprained ankle. Patient was treated and evacuated by stretcher to an awaiting ambulance.

Jan 15 : Achill . Search. The team was requested by the Gardai to be on stand-by for a search on Achill Island . The person turned up safe and sound.
