The team's elder statesman. Colm's wisdom and experience has immensely benefited the team .A vegetarian mountaineer by profession Colm supports this lifestyle through employment as Health Promotion Training Officer with the HSE.

Prior to joining the team Peter made a number of attempts to cycle up The Reek, Membership of the team has helped him see the error of his ways. Works as an Emergency Room Supervisor with CAMP West Regional Control Centre, Loves the outdoors and the craic he has with MMRT.

A physiotherapist by profession, Mary  brings a wealth of walking experience with the Westport Hillwalkers and further afield from her time spent living in Canada to the team. Her running experience including 2 NY Marathons  and medical experience are also a huge asset to the team not to mention her fine array of tales too.

Part of the Cornamona Mafia: This Galway native turned his back on his home team to join MMRT, cos it was obvious we were better craic. When not climbing the Twelve Pins might be spied driving his Minibus Taxi around Galway.

Long running member of the Order of Malta and a native of Westport, Dave's main job is as an Emergency Room Supervisor for CAMP West Regional Control Centre. When he's not rescuing or saving people Dave indulges in his passion for Feng Shui and high impact demolition

Michael is a building contractor based in Ballina. This comes in handy in construction jobs on Croagh Patrick when he can furnish all the tools for the job.

He may appear over the hill in more ways than one but Dick brings a lifetime experience of Hill walking to the team as a member. The elder statesman of the team, Dick has endeared himself to the much younger (but getting older by the year) members with his quirky sense of humour and vast experience of hill walking in Mayo.

Chippy Feeney: Has earned his stripes on many first responder teams, an ever reliable team member for call outs day and night and a grand fella to be on the mountain with too.

One of the founding members. A plumber from Newport, Ollie is as at home on a wet crumbling rock face as fixing a leaky pipe. Brings a wealth of experience to the team in climbing, search management, team leadership and winter skills qualifications

The ever dependable base manager who has been know to hold frequent court in Campbell's of Murrisk. Works in Allergan Pharmaceuticals.

Legendary Westport handyman, stonemason man about town, outdoor enthusiast and generally all round nice guy. Declan is in high demand among the best social circles of Coveyland.

The mustachioed one - Tony's wealth of experience both on the mountain and at base makes him a much valued link in the mountain rescue chain. Grew up at the foot of the Reek and so brings that lifetime of insight and local knowledge to the team.

Long running member who is also active in the FCA/Reserve Defence Forces. Has served the team faithfully both as chairman and team leader in the past.

Francis is a native of Belcarra and has a wealth of mountaineering and outdoor experience from his time in the Irish Army including 3 tours of duty in the Lebanon. Has been known to sing Daniel O Donnell ballads under duress as well as adding much needed words of wisdom at the most opportune of times.

His experience of running his own cleaning business ensures that Aidan tolerates no crap. A stalwart member of the team, known affectionately as Mr Grumpy.

A keen outdoor enthusiast who likes canoeing and has been in the team since its foundation. His wry sense of humour has been know to puzzle and dumbfound some, but his friends have come to understand him fully with time and patience

Living within the shadow of Croagh Patrick near the famous Rock of Boheh, Greg has establishe himself as the poster boy of the team for his striking good looks and charm! His famous legover at Ballyryan has also entered the annals of MMRT.

Mary's pleasant feminity, combined with that of the other female members of the team, helps to keep the adrenalin, testosterone and bravado of most of the lads in check and certainly makes for a prettier team overall. Has been known to throw pots for fun

Former Chairman and a counsellor by profession, Shane's cool head and calming effect is often called into play on the team or whenever he ventures out as passenger in the Landrover, where his knuckles have been known to turn white

Noel is a Native of Westport but has temporarily decamped to the Fishhead town of Castlebar which in some circles could be considered treasonable.

Pat is a member of the Gardai based in Westport. He brings a wealth of experience and the strength of ten men to the team.

The other half of the Cornamona Mafia: His imposing height and command of Latvian has been known to strike terror in to the hardest of men who obviously don't know his reputation as a gentle giant.Has been known to paint an entire house before stopping for breakfast.

Described in one word: Quiet, Pat kicks ass when it come to rock climbing though. Has climbed extensively in Scotland and Europe.

The Rastafarain of  the team, Diarmaid's dreadlocks are keps in reserve as a emergency rigging for rescue system for the team. For his Day job he walks the mountains of Achill as a instructor with the Achill Outdoor Education Centre.

Michael Kavanagh

Anne Marie Tiernan

Marie Lyons

Charlotte McQuaid

A social worker by profession Michael s a native Dub transplanted to the wild west of Mayo and before discovering his salvation in MMRT was something at sea in his kayak without a paddle.

Native of Louisburgh, romance and the need to get away from The Reek has brought  Anne Marie to Claremorris. MMRT has brought her back again! Like Michael works as a Social Worker with the HSE.

Castlebar native marie Marie started her familarity with mountain rescue by acting as Attending Nurse in the Order of Malta Medical Tent each Reek Sunday. The madness this implied eventually became so infectious so as to entice her in 2008 to join the team proper for the rest of the year also. In her day job she works as a Nurse at Delphi Adventure Centre in Doolough Valley.

A native of Dungannon in Co Tyrone, Charlotte emigrated South in search of decent mountains and in doing so ended up boosting the overall image of the best looking mountain rescue team in the country! Works as a secondary teacher in Westport.Chief whip on the teams fundraising committee.

Michael Quinn Baille

Mick McSharry

Liz Doherty

  John Hanley

  Diarmuid Higgins

A native of the frozen North, Michael can make the hairs on your neck curl with tales of ice climbing in Scotland and Joe Simpson like crawls off mountains.

A Dub transplanted to near Ballina, Mick joined the team in 2008 and has already in his brief tenure been cast into some of the most challenging call outs of recent years making him a veritable veteran within his first year.

A 2008 recruit, Donegal Native Liz brings her considerable experience as an Outdoor Instructor at St Petersburgh Outdoor Education Centre to the team.

Castlebar Native and 2008 recruit John is a paramedic by profession. Like Mick has already had something of a baptism of fire in his involvement with some of the most challenging call outs in recent times. A life changing experience after a recent Ac/Dc concert caused his curly locks to dissappear overnight.

We don't know a huge amount yet about Diarmuid, bar that, like the other Diarmuid, he works as an instructor in Achill Outdoor Education Centre. When we find out more we'll let you know.
